Air India Airlines is the only state owned airline in the country. This national airline of India was incorporated as Tata Airlines and was founded by J R D Tata in 1932. As per April 2008, the average age of the Air India Airlines fleet is 9.1 years. The fleet of the airline includes the five aircraft families – the Boeing 777, Boeing 747, Airbus A310, Airbus A320, and Airbus A330. Air India flight 182 Kanishka, one of the aircrafts of the fleet of airline, was bombed by militants on 23rd June 1985.
